KC-ADRC Launches New Website, Database of Local Aging and Disability Service Providers

“No Wrong Door” network attempts to simplify consumers’, families’ and caregivers’ search for aging and disability services and supports

Bakersfield, Calif. (March 24, 2022) – The Independent Living Center of Kern County (ILCKC) today announced the launch of a new website for the Kern County Aging and Disability Resource Connection (KC-ADRC). KC-ADRC is a partnership between ILCKC and Kern County Aging and Adult Services to simplify the process for aging adults, people with disabilities, their families and caregivers to find and access resources for Long-Term Services and Supports.

“At KC-ADRC, we understand how exhausting it can be for people who are aging or have disabilities to find the support they need to live with dignity and as much independence as possible,” said Jimmie Soto, ILCKC Executive Director. “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to find the resources and support they need.”

KC-ADRC is a local network whose purpose is to help aging adults, people with disabilities, their families and caregivers find services and support for their unique circumstances. The goal of the KC-ADRC is to create a “No Wrong Door” network, so that, regardless of which agency or service provider you initially contact, you will end up connected with someone who can help provide the support and services you need. Kern County residents can visit kerncountyadrc.org to learn more about KC-ADRC and search for locally-based service providers.

“Our hope is that this new website helps people understand how KC-ADRC works and that they can easily find an exhaustive list of Kern County service providers for any aging and disability related needs,” said Lito Morillo, Department Director of Kern County Aging and Adult Services.

The website includes information on KC-ADRC and links to an interactive database of service providers in Kern County that provide aging and disability resources. Individuals who are unable to visit KC-ADRC’s website can request personalized support by calling (661) 868-1000 or, toll free, 1-800-510-2020.

Organizations and agencies that provide services for aging or disabled populations in Kern County can register at no cost to be listed as KC-ADRC service providers by calling (661) 325-1063 or emailing [email protected]
